As the son of a Lutheran minister, Peter has been
closely associated with the church and sacred music his entire life. After completing his education at Concordia College
in Bronxville, New York, he worked for 10 years at the Lutheran Church of St. Andrew in Wheaton, specializing in Music and Youth Ministry.
Since joining the staff in 1994, Peter has offered program direction for all music ministry programs at Good Shepherd. In addition, he has served as the director for the Adult Chancel Choir, Good Shepherd Bell Ringers, Rhythm and Good News contemporary worship group, and special choral and instrumental ensembles.
Peter’s personal mission statement for ministry is “Discover the Gifts, Nurture them in Growth, Release them in Joyous Praise to the Lord!” In addition to his ministry at Good Shepherd, Peter has been a choral music teacher for Montgomery County Public School system since 1995.
Currently, he is the Director of Choral Studies at Magruder High School in Rockville, Maryland. Peter enjoys spending his free time with his wife, Vicki and their three kids; and hacking around most any golf course!
